Description: Dam Overlook is one of four trails in the Lake Leatherwood Park. The trail surface is mostly hard packed with sections of loose gravel. The terrain is level for the first 0.7 miles. The trail climbs through several switchbacks approximately 150' in elevation in the next 0.3 miles. It then generally follows the 1300' contour for the next mile. The trail then begins a gradual descent for the next 1.5 miles. At this point, Dam Overlook trail intersects the Beacham Trail. Turn right onto the Beacham Trail to return to the parking area in about 0.5 miles, or turn left onto Beacham Trail and continue clockwise around Lake Leatherwood. The Dam Overlook trail can be ridden in either direction, I prefer to ride clockwise.

Dam Overlook is mostly singletrak and is a good trail for beginners and intermediate riders. The trail has few technical sections, but does have a steep climb if ridden clockwise. Dam Overlook connects to other trails in the Lake Leatherwood Park.
