Description
Trail is composed of 3 loops for a total distance of approximately 6.5 miles. Located in flat South Texas but runs along the 3,100 acre Coleto Creek Reservoir and takes advantage of some unique man made obstacles creating some elevation and good drops, plus challenging tracks through dense oak tree motts. For beginners there are loops around the more challenging sections so trail has been laid out for all levels.

Review: When we went it needed to be mowed. I am not sure who is responsible for the up keep but I only saw A few trails that were well maintained and it wasnt at the beginning of the trail. Everything about the park was nice though.

Review: Good beginner trail; nice drops and obstacles. Good for getting kids excited about mountain biking without wearing them out.

Review: This trail, unlike the picture of it, has absolutely no obstacles, man made or otherwise, just very slight (less than 5 degrees) Up hill and down hill sections . The placard at the beginning, is the only sign you will see, there are non on the trail, there were 2 faded leaned over signs that said "cotton mouth trail" but that was it, no difficulty signs of any kid. The first 1/4 of it is a 2' or so wide trail following the edge of the lake, it is poorly/not maintained, this is the BEST part of the trail. The remainder of the trail, literally has you zigzagging back and forth across a grass field, which is as much fun as it sounds like it would be. Im really confused where the pictures of this trail with the little ramps and obstacles, and signs came from. Because there are neither. Perhaps they were there originally and have since been removed. The only sign is the one at the beginning, that's it. Other than giving you a killer leg work out because of all the uphill riding, this tail offers nothing. I live 10 min away, and its still not worth the drive.

Similar Trail: I would not recommend anything like this.

Review: The trail is in good condition and looks like it doesn't get much use. It is really flat with a few downhill (downhill is used loosely here) sections which drop about 10 feet. The trail does get narrow (just enough to fit handlebars through) in a few of places due to trees. As for overall technical difficulty, it is really easy. Also, entry to the park is $8 per vehicle for one day or $2 per person if you bike/walk/run in.
