Description: it's a great training for uphills, you can combine road and trail in here, this map is from the beginning of the entrace of the park to the hotel, the road is pavemented, but you spin to 4.3 miles of steep hills. if you want to can stop on the top and get down, or get into the mountain to add several mails for different roads of moutain and really technical roads

Two o us had a shot at this trail, perhaps making the mistake of riding out on the roads from downtown Monterrey to get there so we already had 16miles hard grind before we hit the park. The setting is stunning. The trails are loose shale typical of earthquake faulted valleys. On the trails the climbs are tough with successive wooden "steps" to dodge. It's not always clear which trails are OK for bikes and we got a few wrong though nobody seemed to care. The views are stunning and it's pleasantly cool at that altitude, multitudes of bird life and butterflies. Very lovely. We took the road down, no gravel on the bends so you can really hang it out. Topped out at 42mph. Nice. Thoroughly recommended if you have a spare day in Monterrey.
