Description
Great network of trails by the lake. There are alot of hills on this trail to keep the trail rolling. Several descents are steep and the ascents can be just as challenging. Lots of leaves here in the fall to slip you up. Much of the trail is tight, twisty singletrack lined with small trees. Varied terrain but nothing too difficult or technical.

Review: The Harveysburg trail system spans the gap between Harveysburg Road and the campground, with 16 miles of trail made up of four principal loops plus connecting mileage. The Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance (CORA) has a trail map at this link: http://home.fuse.net/coramtb/images/trailMaps/caesar_map.jpg The trail can be accessed at either end, or at Ward Road in the middle. It is signed only at principal intersections, with white PVC pipe markers. The terrain is gently rolling, forested glacial till uplands dissected by ravines which conduct small streams down to the lake. There are some sweeping lake views. Most of the mileage is easy-to-intermediate in difficulty level, but a few ravine descents and climb-outs are challenging to the point of being un-rideable for all but a few experts. There is no surface bedrock and there are no rock gardens. The till remains muddy through the spring unless warm and dry weather persists for a week or more. July through October are peak season for this trail.
The Fifty Springs loop is an easy 3.1 mile (5k) oval loop around the Fifty Springs peninsula, which is a two-mile road ride from the Harveysburg Road trail head. This trail is about a mile long and several hundred yards wide. It includes one intermediate-level ravine crossing. The terrain is much like that of the Harveysburg trail system. A park road runs the length of the peninsula, so bail-outs are easy. The first parking lot on the park road serves as the trail head, and is at the northeast end of the loop. There is no signage at the parking lot, and very little signage along the trail. Standing in the parking lot and looking west down the park road (with one's back to Rt. 73), the trail goes into the woods to the left at a point along the woodline; to the right, it goes out the spur road across the park road from the end of the parking lot, and departs the road to the left at the cemetery.

Review: Several loops avalible. Good trails; not great trails. Several sections have short steep downhills and uphills. I'll never be the greatest rider but I could handle most of the sections. Well maintained by the volunteers.

Review: I rode this trail system today and loved the challenge ie hike a bike sections. I felt like ill be coming back quite often. I ride momba in Dayton at least 2 times a week, the trails here at the creek feel completely different offering a different ride style. Thanks cora

Review: Love this trail! Been riding here several years and gets better all the time. Lots of roots, creek crossings, steep hills, some challenging areas. It does take awhile to dry out after it rains, parts of trail tend to stay muddy a long time. This summer has been unusually dry which makes this trail much better to ride. I have many pics of trail on everytrail.com.

Review: rode 5/16/10 trails were in great shape. some weed wacking been going on.trail past h-hill is needing reroute beside the creek. there is a couple of options for that. one option does not have very good drainage though. by the way 50 springs is not part of the mtb trails.that is for hiking and x-country skiing.

Review: Caesar's Creek website mentions two trails, one off Harveysburg Rd, for highly experienced riders, and a second off 50 Springs Picnic area for novices. With 15 years of mountain biking experience, I expected the picnic area trail could at least be ridden, but I was wrong. It's horribly overgrown, with multiple tree trunks at waist height, trails that are so overgrown they are impassible, and lots of long thorny plants on the trail itself. No trail maps are available at the entrance to this area, and trails are very poorly marked, or so overgrown the markings are just plain false. Sadly, the park's website says this trail is for novices. Any novice who finds the 50 Springs trail will quit riding. I can't remember the last time I took my bike for a walk....

Similar Trail: Yellow River outside Atlanta, GA. MOMBA or John Bryan in Dayton area.

Review: My favorite place to train. Not my favorite place to ride. The trailhead on the left at the Ward Rd parking area is the fastest singletrack there. It makes for a nice loop coming out about a mile up the road before the parking area

Review: Great single-track trail. Has a lot of technical aspects as well. In a couple of places, the trail does tend to hold water but over all trail is in great shape. Go ride it!!!!

Review: This was easily my favorite trail from the time I spent in Ohio. Tight, twisty and fast, flowy singletrack through thick woods with an occaisonal technical challenge. There's a couple tough climbs out of ravines, one scary steep hill, and one major root drop on the north side. The place does retain water, so beware after a rain. Fall can be trecherous when the leaves fall and get slick.

Review: Some good stuff here, particularly for the limited number of trails in this part of the country. No major hills except one, but it is simply a short sprint to the top. There are some very flowy sections to this trail and is definitely one of my favorite in OH.

Review: I ride there all the time. My beef is with CORA. CORA has been dumbing down the trails. Many people do not agree with what they do. The heads of CORA seem to think that they know best when the reality is that not everyone is a beginner. Most riders like a challenge/obstacle. MTBR's get tired of off camber trail, that has a 90 degree turn every 20-50 yards(or less in many places). CORA will say that the trail needs to be that way for a maintainence free trail. Erosion is a natural process and there will always be a need for maintainence unless everyone stops using it. Trails are always a work in progress. I hear people refer to them as the trail nazi's. They need to lose their egos and ride. Not much of a review but there you go.

Review: I rode was there a couple of years ago and got lost for awhile becuase not many of the trails were marked. Going up and down into most of the ravines is difficult because of large roots that cross the trail. I was there in the Fall when the leaves where changing and that was nice but it was slick.

Review: Caesers is great for beginners to advanced, but if you are allergic to poison ivy or oak, be cautious. As of July, I went once, and had a major breakout on my legs due to the overgrowth on some of the newer trails.

Review: Start at the top. You can really haul some butt from the start on a gravel/dirt road. Scenery is pleasant when you get to the valley, but whose sightseeing anyway? Sustained climb back to the start. Overall, I would pass this one up. Somewhat disappointing due to the lack of singletrack and technicallity.
