Description: There is about 150 miles of bike-legal singletrack in Pisgah National forest right outside of Brevard, and even more trails that are hiking only. This area is a gold mine of singletrack fun! That is, if you enjoy getting chewed up and spit out by the trail. Make no bones about it: These trails are steep and technical! But the thrill of the descents, the deep forests, and some of the views more than make up for the madness of the climbs.

Note: This trail system listing is for everything basically adjacent to Brevard. It does NOT include Dupont State Forest or Bent Creek. When adding specific trails to this listing, please only add the trails in the network to the West of Brevard so we can keep things well organized. Thanks!

I second what GoldenGoose mentioned below: This area is truly the East Coast Mecca of MTB! You'll first notice this is true when you look at a trail map and begin to grasp the scope and range of the trail system. There are mountain bike trails literally spider webbed all across the region! I don't know if I've ever looked at a trail map with such a large scale with so many trails before! These trails are truly as gnarly as you've heard. Bring your A-game and be ready to throw down, otherwise Pisgah will chew you up and spit you out! Be prepared for steep hike-a-bikes, roots and rocks like nobodies business, and real commitment to your ride by being miles and miles from your civilization.

The East coast Mecca of MTB. Gnarly, nasty, killer climbs, and huge downhills. Bring your A game when you ride the trails here or you will get hurt or lost. If you don't like roots, go somewhere else!!! Full suspension isn't a must to ride here, but it certainly is bonus. So many trails in this area it's hard to list them all. A GPS would be nice, but since you may not be able to get a signal through the thick tree cover, a map is better. Certain trails are seasonal and shared with hikers and horses so be alert.

Similar Trail: Windy Gap.
