Review: Had my ass kicked by the elevation gain. unrelenting.
The trail is tough - but that does not make it bad.

Descent down Too Long was too fun!

Review: One of my Front Range favorites. Fantastic trail network with something for everyone. Advanced technical climbing, smooth beginner-intermediate cut-throughs, lung-busting climbs, and tight S-turns. Keep the beginner-intermediates on Meadow View, Founders, Elk Ridge, and Sleepy "S" trail. Advanced, tackle Bergen Peak and Too Long Trails. Bergen Peak and Too Long will test your ability to negotiate technical climbing and picking correct lines. Rode November 10th and the trail is in great condition.

Review: Great trail, with a good combination of technical challenges and great views. Rode it in October where there was snow on part of the trail in the shades and warm sun at the top.

Review: The search is over. I have found my perfect trail. After reading a bunch of conflicting reviews on this trail I decided to just go check it out. I was stoked on the whole package, the forest, views, friendly hikers and bikers. I am glad I went all the way to the top of Bergan peak. Having to walk over a bunch of rocky sections didn,t phase me as just being OUT THERE is a bonus. Allow an extra hour if you do the bergan peak trail as its a long way down to tha car park. You will find you stop often also to take in the views and wildlife. I went on a weekday afternoon as i know its a popular place on weekends. Enjoy and stay safe.

Review: You should be able to do this as a shuttle by following these directions to the top of the mountain...
1. Head west on I-70 from Denver
2. Take exit 252 off of I-70, merge onto CO-74 S/Evergreen Pkwy to Evergreen Pkwy - 3.4 mi
3. Turn right onto Co Rd 66/Ellingwood Trail/Squaw Pass Rd
Continue to follow Co Rd 66/Squaw Pass Rd - 1.6 mi
4. Turn left toward Bear Claw Ln - 1.0 mi
Continue straight onto Bear Claw Ln - 0.3 mi
5. Turn left onto Co Rd 470/Sinton Rd - 0.1 mi
6. Take the 1st left onto Tract E - 0.3 mi
7. Turn right - 0.3 mi
8. Turn right
Destination will be on the right

Review: Bergen Peak is a lot harder, and, a lot more fun than Mt. Falcon. Stout climb with typical Front Range gnar both up and down. Fun trail.

Review: yea so this trail is awesome. go to the left to climb the trail and it ends up being a loop. if you go left on the trail it is a very difficult climb that few can do and the downhill isnt as great. Awesome trail. If you can ride mount falcon, you can ride this area. NOT FOR NOOBS.

Review: Climb up Bergen is a nice workout. Not a great layout. Most certainly this trail was not created for bikers. The swichbacks are tight and trail is unkept. The view from the top was nice. The downhill has no flow and also has not been maintained. I would not recommend this trail to anyone on a mountain bike. Lot of people obviously disagree with me by the volume of bikers in the meadow. If you like people, hikers, horses, non maintained trail systems, and lack of any flow then this trail is for you.

Review: This is a GREAT trail! There are some technical spots during the climb up to Bergen Peak but the views and downhill are worth it! I would say it's a more difficult trail but not a black diamond. Just like what everyone else said, try to go on a weekday early morning or in the evening to miss any traffic on the trail. I would recommend not riding here on the weekends.

Review: Really enjoyed this trail. I must say though that the number of reviews here that list this as "lots of technical sections" "very technical" or "super technical" is not totally accurate, and I'm not a monster rider, especially in the technical arena. Actually, I was somewhat surprised that this trail was listed as single black diamond. I did get off my bike 2 or 3 times for a few feet, but only because I was riding alone. I always lighten up when alone. Never the less, the climb is quite a work out, but not ridicules like say Whites Ranch. As listed below the decent is awesome especially on the lower sections which are way less technical. There its very fast, flowing, with some nice jumps. I did this ride mid week at 3pm and there were only 2 other cars in the lot. I will take some friends up next time.

Review: Big, big climb going up with a lot of switchbacks and some techie riding. A good climb, but tough. Coming down is ridiculously fun, just bombing down with a great mix of nice singletrack and enough technical spots that you've gotta pay attention. Incredibly crowded on the weekend, keeps your speed in check unfortunately.

Review: This loop is in my top list of favorite downhills in the Front Range. The climb to the summit will get your heart pumping, but it's really not bad, especially when rewarded with the sweet downhill!

Review: My wife and I did this on a whim today and were definitely caught off guard. It looks very similar to Evergreen Mt. trail however there are A LOT of technical sections. IMHO, if you're not good at bike trials it'll be nearly impossible NOT to walk your bike at all on this trail. If you love a good lung buster with thought provoking technical sections and fast downhill then this trail is for you. If you plan to hit this when you’re not up to par, be prepared to get spanked.

Review: Classic Colorado riding: long climb through the the trees, great scenery at the top, and a long, flowy downhill. This trail can be crowded at peak times, so try it on a weeknight.

Review: Beautiful trail and tons of fun but very technical. Lots of steep climbs and plenty of big rocks. Bergen was where I had my first serious fall and I took the fall with pride. :-) Awesome views! Very crowded during weekend! I was heading down at 11 am and had to constantly stop for hikers and other bikers - go during weekday or super early on a weekend to avoid the crowds.

Review: This trail is crazy! super hard technical uphill with quite a bit of elevation gain, but the downhill makes it all worth while. definitely take the Bergen peak trail all the way to the top for a wicked view! I would be wary if trying this one on a hardtail. one of the best trails in the area.

Similar Trail: apex for technical challenge, mount falcon for amount of climbing

Review: No doubt about it, this is a sick climb. The grade is relentless for about 4 and a half miles. The switchbacks are tight and always seem to be immediately followed by a 1 - 2' step up. The combination of grade, technical challenge (lots of rocks--about a half dozen dismounts for most riders), and length make this one a real beaut! Is it worhth it? You bet! The climb up is big fun if you like an aerobic workout dotted with technical challenges. The panoramic view from the top is stellar, including views of at least four 14ers, the surrounding mountains and valleys, and the prairie below. Then comes the descent--wow! Relentlessly steep, lots of tight switchbacks, rock gardens, roots, beautiful aspens and always those distracting views. It's hard to overrate this trail for advanced or adventurous riders. The only drawback is it's overall popularity with all user groups, so it's almost a mandatory weekday ride for MTBs.

Review: Wow this was the most difficult climbing I've done in a long time, pushed me beyond my limits, it can be VERY steep sometimes and VERY technical as well, and the climbing seemed endless, nearly killed me but gives me something to work on. Coming back down was awesome, steep fun and technical. The switchbacks going up weren't to bad, still tough, but wasn't able to take them going down, I'm not good at taking those turns going down. Looking forward to next time though! Hopefully its warmer out. BTW there wasn't any snow on the trail, and there where only a few others on the trail being a Tuesday.

Review: This is a very tough, challenging ride. My family and I hiked it on Sunday, and I rode it the next evening after work. Ride this trail on a weekday if you can. I saw 3 hikers and 3 bikers on a Monday night - sweet! Once you're about .5 miles in on the Bergen Peak trail get set for some granny-gear climbing and very difficult technical sections. I suck at waterbars anyway, and this ride helped cement that fact. Lots of steep sections, so you'd better have the legs AND the lungs. The Too-Far trail downhill is fantastic, and worth the pain. Zoomy, flowy through the woods, and then technical rocks and switchbacks. Keep your speed under control, as there are a few surprises. If you like tough climbing and a technical challenge, then this trail is for you.

Review: I'm glad I tried this on a weekday with little traffic because I didn't feel so bad blocking the trail. I am obviously not Mr. Hardcore but there were very many technical obstacles there . Even on the downhill, i frequently had to get off my bike. IMHO this one is just for the experts. On the bright side, there were some really great views and the trail is well shaded so it doesn't get that hot.

Review: This is one of my favorite rides on the planet. To me, this is an almost perfect trail. Great forest, the terrain is just challenging enough. The view at the top is awesome. If you want, you can come in from the back side.

Review: Once you get out of the Elk Meadow area and start the climb up; you can really begin to appreciate this trail. A great, sometimes technical climb all the way to the peak and some fun, sometimes technical downhill. You're shaded by the trees for the most part so bringing survival supplies on this trail is not really necessary;)
