Description: This is the main road through Arches National Park. Road is paved (chipseal). Most people drive through, but this makes a beautiful cycle ride. As with any riding in Moab, you must start early (dawn) during the summer months to avoid the heat. This is not a flat trail. Water is only available at the visitors center and at the turnaround point. Make sure to refill at the turnaround as you will use more water on the way back because of the increased heat. The mileage can be extended by going on side routes to other viewpoints. If you are riding a mountain bike, there are two sets of 4x4 trails in the park that can be explored. One is clearly marked on the Arches NP maps and is simple gravel road with a spur that is more challenging. The second begins at the Delicate Arch viewpoint and quickly goes off park property. It is a rougher gravel road that only modified 4x4s can handle.
