Description
Two trails actually; one for peds and one for bikes. the one for peds is singletrack the other for bikes is an old double track that is now in most places a wide single track. This trail is always steep up or down and always rocky

Review: A nice early season climb, with lots of rocks. This one usually opens a bit earlier as it's not too shaded. I concur with the views from the top, wonderful.

Review: Animas Mountain Trail is a gnarly 6 mile loop that climbs, up, up, up, then down, down, down. It is pretty rocky, but the views at the top are amazing. Located on the Northwest edge of town, this trail is managed by the BLM and seasonal closures do occur. This trail offers great views North of the Animas River Valley, and South into town.
