Pros: - can take a beating
- smooth action solid feeling
- light

Cons: - mine only shift in one direction, they are older though... so a 4 out of 5

Recommendation: They can take a beating as the bike they are on has been ridden and abused and they still have a solid smooth action. I like the Deore line personally.

Model/Year: 2009

Pros: Fast shifting
Consistent

Cons: Will stiffen up if not lubed in regular intervals, nothing a little WD-40 can't fix

Recommendation: A bit faster than the previous setup I had, so I like this setup. The previous owner hand not used the bike often, so it has taken some WD-40 and use to get the thumb shifters back into easy movement. A great shifter set.

Model/Year: 2009

Pros: Smooth shifting even after 4 years of use. Decently rugged and shifts in both directions (thumb thumb and thumb forefinger).

Cons: Wont work with most SRAM RDs but what did you expect?

Recommendation: I'd buy another pair if I wanted to set up another 9 speed drivetrain.

Pros: Light. Love the 2 way release.

Cons: Not a fan of shimano shifting. Not bolt action quick as SRAM.

Recommendation: Great shimano triggers. Still prefer SRAM shifting as it is in my opinion more crisp.

Pros: Smooth shifting, light weight, durable, reliable

Cons: none...

Recommendation: Upgraded from Deore along with XT Shadow deraileur. Great upgrade. they shift smooth and have snappy trigger response. And Xt is almost as good as XTR, costs a fraction of the price, and doesn't weigh much more. I got the black ones, they look sweet....

Recommendation: Went from Acera to XT. Difference was like night and day. Would recommend upgrading to these shifters.
