Model/Year: 2010

Pros: - Tough, not easily bent or dented
- Built to withstand the modern freerider
- Cost

Cons: - Weight
- Not unique?

Recommendation: The MTX29s are a burly rim that can take a beating. I swapped out my lighter wheels for a pair of MTX29s for my Whistler trips because I know they can withstand the abuse of a bike park.

And when the inevitable happens they're cheap to replace and almost every shop carries them.

They are a bit heavy considering there are just as strong wheels/rims out there (i.e. SUNringle ADD lites, Mavic EN521 or 721 or Easton Havocs) that are lighter and equivalently strong but ultimately come in at a higher price point.

If your in need a of cheap, heavy duty wheelset to absorb the abuse than look no further than the MTX29.
