Pros: Fit
Number of pieces
Shammy

Cons: Have to air dry

Recommendation: These shorts are great. The tight fit of these allows more blood flow to the quads than baggy shorts. What makes these better than the other Pearl Izumi shorts is the number of pieces sewn together to make them. The more pieces, the better the fit and flex. When pedaling, these shorts do not slide, nor rub the insides of you thighs. These are a great pair of shorts if you are looking for a pair of spandex riding shorts.

Model/Year: 2010

Pros: Comfort, breathable, long-lasting

Cons: "Elite" letters peeled off after third ride if this could be an issue for somebody. Not for me.
Price is a bit high

Recommendation: Got it from LBS for 70% Off - good deal. That was a major reason to give lycra shorts a try. I use this shorts over a year on either short rides or an all-day Epics and don't even thinking of getting anything different. Padding not bulky yet absorbs every impact which allows to stay in the saddle for 50-60 miles (my longest rides yet) without any saddle sore. Even in the hottest days I feel myself cool. And when temperature drops below freezing you won't noticed 'em under regular pants.
Sure, after a year of use there're some signs of wear but still looks fine.
Overal great shorts.
