-100% of excess must be wiped off or your chain will get coated in dirt
Recommendation: This is good lube. It is very, very thick, and it will stay on your chain forever. I can easily go a few hundred miles before needing to re-lube. But it is messy. It's extremely important that you wipe the chain down thoroughly after the initial lube, and again after riding a few miles. Any excess lube left on the chain will attract dirt and grime. But if you wipe off ALL the excess this lube will keep your drivetrain spinning smoothly for miles and miles.
