Model/Year: Go Pro HD Hero/ 2012

Pros: Ease of use, easy controls.

Cons: I wish I could watch what I was filming, but have gotten over it. Batter life is a bit shorter than I would like. Needs software for video editing.

Recommendation: I have nothing to compare it to but most of my friends use this or the Contour. No complaints. Great camera, I wish I got one sooner.

Pros: Small, waterproof, endless mounting positions, easy to operate, wide angle

Cons: Video quality ain't best when light conditions changing frequently, like entering dense forest from an open area.

Recommendation: Great camera. It's lite, small and simple. I've used it so far for biking, skiing, snorkeling and on the car. Never worried about breaking/scratch - parts are cheap and easy to replace. That lower video quality I've mentioned common for many other cameras and doesn't affect on rating for me. Chesty mount is the most versatile.like being said before, imagination us your only limit.

Pros: Easy to use. Lots of different mounting options. Windows video format. Water-proof case. Small size.

Cons: Somewhat awkward square shape, camera sticks out too much.

Recommendation: Love this. I can now show my couch potato friends what they are missing. Use it skiing, mtn biking. The chest mount is the easiest to use. Easy 2 button operation.

Pros: Durable, Your imagination is the only thing to limit mounts and viewing angles, shoots very clear, crisp videos.

Cons: no LCD(you can buy a new adapter), battery life. Accessories are a little expensive, but so are bike components, right? I wish I had it last year (my first year riding) cuz I wouldve gotten some sweet wipeouts.

Recommendation: I love this thing. Don't get me wrong, I love to ride, too. But sometimes I want to go ride just to see what a different mounting position looks like. I have dropped this thing many times on concrete/asphalt, and it doesn't skip a beat. Waterproof, crush resistant casing. Go get one and start experimenting.(Just make sure you put your rides on singletracks!!)

Pros: Great quality and construction. Tonnes of mounting options and acessories

Cons: none

Recommendation: I love this unit and find that I keep coming back to this one. The fast auto focus and reaction to light and dark situations make this great for a DH rider I love the new LCD viewer option as well as the new firmware update that allows you to easily use the camera upside down and still have normal viewing.

Pros: Amazing video quality, 720p & 1080p are awesome. High quality components, cheap to replace it something does break.

Cons: Battery life. The batteries really only have about 3 hours of life and there is no way of really knowing when it has died without continually checking.

Recommendation: I love mine, I've shot a lot of videos of biking, jeeping, rafting, etc. with this thing and it's absolutely awesome. Try mounting it on the fork of your bike for a fantastic front wheel view!

Pros: Low wind noise. Loved the many options of the camera from the amount of photos, to the 5 different resolutions of the camera. Good quality mounts and variety of them.

Cons: none other than needs own software

Recommendation: Overall good performance of the camera I did notice a bit of latency when in high light conditions. Other than that for the money you get a good quality video camera system that allows you to play and experiment with camera angles.
