Model/Year: Motobecane Team Fantom August 2010

Pros: Light, nice components, well built and well spec'd

Cons: stock tires, chain, tubes, road cassette, tires ok but not really for anything but an easy track.

Recommendation: The bike is top notch and handles well. The Vuelta rims are handbuilt and were right on out of the box. The tubes were so thin that they got holes just going around the block. The rear shock seals failed after a couple of months so I sent it back to seller. A few weeks later I had the latest model shock to replace the defective one. Easily handles the terrain in Summit, Colorado. I use it for commuting in during the winter, too by adding studded tires. Can't go wrong with this bike. I have about 1,000 miles on in the last 8 months.

Pros: PRICE, Looks, this bike gets compliments everytime out, Light weight, handles great, rides great, my lap times have improved by 3 min in the first week over my 09 Motobecane Comp,

Cons: Tires,( Schwablbe 2.25s now) cassette was a road gear, 11x27 changed to a 12x32 big improvement all around, grips (Oury now)

Recommendation: All this bike for $1899 to the door, WOW!! Why pay more for a trail bike, If you can't improve with this bike, its your fault, the best kept secret in trail bikes. Dealer don't want you to know about these bikes.

Pros: Very light bike coming in at around 25 lbs as I have it equipped (changed the handlebars, tires, and added pedals), adjustable rear travel of 3/4/5", included components can't even be bought at this price.

Cons: The tires that the bike came with would have a hard time gripping asphalt. The handlebar isn't the greatest either so it got changed out instantly. Be careful of the paint and you might want to put an extra coating on it to help protect it.

Recommendation: I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone that wants a well-equipped FS bicycle. It's a nice ride that floats over just about anything that you throw at the bike and handles well (once you change the tires and handlebar that it). If you are looking for a great value on a proven frame, this is the one for you.
