Model/Year: LG1 Downhill Crankset

Pros: - Single ring design
- Stiff no chance of slippage
- Polygon interface makes installation easy to line up
- Tools and spacers included
- Looks tough and burly
- Oversized bottom bracket

Cons: - Finish wears easily from shoe rub
- Unorthodox installation procedure
- Specific BB tool required to install

Recommendation: A great crankset that is plenty stiff that provides a solid interaction when you put the pedal to the metal.

The oversized BB seems to be holding up and still spin smoothly.

The LG1's look great and the oversized bits and gold finish on the spindle really sets them apart.

However it is a shame that something that looks so good wears so fast. The finish is no better than any of the LG1's counterparts and you will soon develop some shine along the crank arm from your shoe rubbing.

The LG1 is worth looking at if you want add a unique look to your bike. They perform as good, or even better than their competition, but they're only available in black. They also require a 3*thirteen BB tool to remove the bottom bracket... so if you can live with yet another tool then it should be an easy choice.

Model/Year: 2011

Pros: Super stiff and strong. These can take a beating. Oversized Bottom Braket bearing are great and the whole assembly comes appart easily for service.

Cons: initial set up is a bit of a drag

Recommendation: Super solid crankset with a massive axle for superior strength and stiffness. A bit heavier than others out there but very tough. I crashed many times and no signs of damage.
