Pros: Solid, stiff, durable, lightweight

Cons: no bash guard version available

Recommendation: Great crankset. This is the measuring device that most other cranksets are measured against.

Model/Year: 2010

Pros: Stiff and relatively light for a 3 ring crankset. Crankarms take a beating and walk away with minor nicks. The middle ring lasts a LONG time.

Cons: Chainrings are expensive to replace and the granny wears quickly.

Recommendation: If you have the $$$, make the purchase. You won't regret this one. XT stuff is the non-sponsored mtber's go to gear for good reason. It's nice but not so nice you need a logo on your back to afford it.

Pros: Light. Replaceable cogs. come in a 48 tooth and 44 tooth version. External cups for BB are easy to replace. Middle ring is made of a stronger steel composite for durability. STIFF.

Cons: Not a thing!

Recommendation: This is a SWEET crankset that is deceptively light and stiff. Couple it with an XT derailleur up front and you will never worry about shifting again.

Pros: Stiff. Great looks.

Recommendation: Great set of cranks with no problems after one very hard ridden season. I usually don't go with shimano but I can't complain about this set of cranks. Good pricepoint.
