Model/Year: Single Speed with bash

Pros: -Super heavy duty and high quality
-Bash guard can take abuse
-Quality external bottom bracket

Cons: -None

Recommendation: I used the single speed version of this crank on my hard tail for a few years and didn't have a single issue with it. I wore out the teeth on the chain ring (as to be expected) but that was it, the crank took a beating and kept on rolling.

Model/Year: 2010 XC, 175mm

Pros: Stiffness; Strength(Can take a beating); Rigid under my 200lb load; So far, the sealed bearings on the X-type bottom bracket have been smooth. Good construction for the price; I was also told that replacing the Bottom bracket bearings is rather cheap and a snap to do.

Cons: Not the lightest crank around

Recommendation: I bought this as an upgrade to my Race Face Prodigy ISIS crank on my Jamis Dakar XCT, and the X-Type Bottom bracket is smooth. It has been in use since March of 2011. I have bounced the outer ring off of log jams, and hit the crank arms off of many decent sized rocks during some tight singletrack and some downhills, this didn't miss a beat. I have also ridden this crank in some of Michigan's spring snow/sleet and even through some standing water on some decents, and so far so good. It flexes minimally with my 200lb plus frame pressure. I'm happy with it. Periodically, JensonUSA runs some good Race Face Deals.

Pros: Stiff crank. Pretty strong for an xc type crank. Good chainrings. External bottom bracket system provides extra strength

Cons: Mine is creaking, might need to be regreased.

Recommendation: Definitely worth the buy. Wheelworld has a great deal on them.

Pros: solid feel
look great
reasonable price
Overall seem well built

Cons: VERY hard to get the cahin out after chainsuck, not much space between the bottom bracket and small chain ring

Recommendation: I bought these for my Giant Trance frame build up. They look good, they don't flex under my 200 lbs and hockey player leg strength and generally I just don't think about them when I ride...which is always a good thing.
Mine came with the bottom bracket, which installed very nicely on my frame and the whole set seems to work well together.

Pros: Clean construction, nice rings for the money

Cons: A bit on the heavy side. Middle ring chips easily

Recommendation: A decent crank for most people worth the money.

Pros: Burly crank that really transfers power to the rear wheel when you mash those pedals. This crank is a real powerhouse. The forging is pretty coll too.

Cons: None

Recommendation: I recommend this crank to anyone who wants an affordable high quality powerhouse.
