Recommendation: I love these cables by Jagwire. Been using them for awhile on all my bikes, from XC, trail, to FR/DH, and they hold strong and the cable actuation is great. Very strong cable housings that do not tear or sever easy when a bad crash happens, and also very strong towards abrasion. All in all, I like these better than the highly talked about Gore.
