Model/Year: 2009

Pros: Can be found at a very reasonable price since this model is discontinued. Uses Mineral oil so it's less toxic when you spill fluid. Don't seem to fade as fast as some other models on the market.

Cons: Lever shape takes some getting used to. No pad adjustment and the pistons seem a little weak for anything other than XC riding.

Recommendation: If you are looking for a decent used pair of hydros for your XC bike, take a look at these. They'll get the job done. Just don't expect to get something you'd find on a current race bike.

Pros: The shop I work at is a Magura dealer so we bleed a lot of these. The bleed port makes it tons easier and the fact that it uses mineral oil makes bleeds clean and simple.

Recommendation: Never use caustic DOT fluid again! Switch to these for a light and dependable brake with easy bleeds and clean looks.

Pros: Great brakes once set up and correctly adjusted. Good power and great modulation.

Cons: These brakes are really tough to bleed properly.

Recommendation: A great pair of brakes that are super light and have good power for there intended application.
