Model/Year: 2011

Pros: Everything. Will stop on a dime. One finger operating. Responsive and informative feeling. Toll-free adjustment.

Cons: None

Recommendation: I've got these brakes as stock on my bike a year ago and didn't realize how good they're until I've tried other brands. One finger operating means more fingers on the bar and more control on the rough terrain. Easy to control how much force you apply. And it will stop you on a dime when needed. Having fun year long and no problems - this is how I'll describe Avid Elixir R.

Pros: Tool free adjustment, consistant flawless proformance, durable.

Cons: None found so far.

Recommendation: I have issues with some of my brakes because of my 240 lbs. frame. These handle my weight with ease. They are firm, consistant and inspire confidence. They are well made and function flawlessly.
