Description
The first wheel designed from the ground up for All Mountain riders. Light enough for the most demanding XC rider, yet strong enough for the rigors of DH. The Havoc?s proprietary hubs are enhanced with oversized axles and bearings. A newly designed 3-pawl freehub is engineered for dependability and smooth performance and the front hub converts from 9mm axle to either 15mm or 20mm through in seconds ? no tools required! Easton's proprietary 28mm rims accommodate the widest tires without the rollover inherent in competing 23mm rims and its lateral stiffness is up to 39% greater than competing rims.

Model/Year: 2011

Pros: Improved hub and rim design over previous models.
Now UST.

Cons: None

Recommendation: Now wider and stronger the new Havocs are awesome. Truely shread worthy. The added strenght did not come at a cost of weight. The lighter weight is a welcome as well. Only comes with a 20mm front though. Other than that you have a choice of rear spacing which is cool. Awesome graphics as well.

Pros: A great wheelset at any price. Super cassette body which works very well. Tough wheels that can take abuse

Cons: None

Recommendation: I love these wheels they work great and roll so well. If your into hitting gnarly trails these are a must have. Also these will work on 20mm QR15mm and QR9mm front axle.

Pros: Can be found on sale. The Thru Axle is a quick change out w/o tools. Weight vs Sturdiness is within tolerances to race XC on. Easton wheels are coming on strong in MTB and Road.

Cons: You'll want to do PM on the hubs every 6 months.

Recommendation: The local LBS suggested I go with these after I taco'd a set of DT 1540's on a channeled rock garden. Their entire XC squad uses them..and I figured what the heck. I have continued to abuse these within an inch of MY life and they have yet to even garner a spoke ping. Their weight isn;t that much of a factor on race day climbs as you can catch anything lost while bombing technical downhills and obstacles with confidence. I don't hesitate to take to the air to clear some obstacles with these. They have surpassed my expectations. Mated with the Rampage 2.35...an almost unbeatable combo.

Pros: Tough set of wheels with rugged hubs and easily converts from 9mm to 20mm without any tools.

Cons: Weight, but I'm a trail rider, so having strong wheels is worth it.

Recommendation: If you ride techical trails, all mountain or freeride, these are a great set.
